Volunteer Spotlights

cassie volunteer testimonial

holden volunteer testimonial

"Volunteering at Bryan is a break from the rest of your activities and allows for you to really enjoy the experience more and get to know the people. You can make friends while you are doing it!"

Holden volunteers at Bryan as a comfort hands partner, providing hand massages to cancer patients at the April Sampson Cancer Center. He is currently a phlebotomist at Bryan and a master's student at UNMC. He finds volunteering easy because he views it as a break from the busyness of school and work. Along with building relationships with patients and staff at the cancer center, he finds it is a fun way to take a break!

sawyer volunteer testimonial

"It's a profoundly rewarding experience. The opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of patients is priceless. If you have a chance, I highly encourage you to join us in making a difference at Bryan."

Sawyer began volunteering at Bryan in March of 2023. His primary role involves his therapy dog, Finley, to visit patients. Together, they provide emotional support and companionship to patients who are in need. Finley has become best friends with and a great source of cheer for the nurses they see each week too!

kevin volunteer testimonial

"You should do it! It's a great way to give back and will be beneficial for yourself and everyone who walks in the door."

Kevin began volunteering in 2024 and is a family care host. In his role he checks in visitors to the surgery waiting room and is available for the families to answer any questions or discuss concerns they may have. After his wife passed from cancer several years ago, and spending a lot of time in hospitals, he discovered great people in the medical community that helped through their journey and feels his time volunteering now is a good way to give back.
