More Comfort. Less Time.
Your comfort is of top importance to us. Curved paddles make your mammogram more comfortable while our advanced technology reduces the amount of compression time.
I tried the curved paddles along with 3D imaging. It was a total and complete breeze. I'll be back next year for sure.

How Mammography Works
Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D mammography) is FDA-approved. It uses computers to produce a high resolution image, giving radiologists a three-dimensional image of the breast. Breasts are composed of pockets of dense tissue surrounded by fat, and 3D mammography makes it easier to see tiny microcalcifications and other subtle signs of early cancer.
Our certified, female technologist positions you to get images of the breast from various angles and compresses the breast to obtain the best image quality.
Who Should Have a Mammogram
Mammography screening guidelines vary based on a woman's age and risk factors for breast cancer. Talk to your healthcare provider about the screening plan that is best for you.
If you are experiencing symptoms such as a breast lump, nipple discharge or dimpling of the skin on one area of the breast, talk to your healthcare provider about a mammogram.
Mammography is the best screening tool for breast cancer available today. Research shows mammograms lead to early detection of breast cancers. Early detection is the key to treating cancer when it is most curable.
How to Prepare for Your Mammogram
Taking these steps can help make your mammogram more comfortable and effective:
- Schedule your mammogram at a time of month when your breasts are not tender.
- Dress in a comfortable, two-piece outfit; you will be asked to undress from the waist up and to remove any jewelry that might get in the way.
- Do not wear deodorant as this can interfere with the mammogram results; we provide deodorant packets for you after your exam.
- Do not use talcum powder, ointment or cream on your breasts or underarms as this can interfere with the mammogram results.
- Lower caffeine intake a few days before your mammogram, as it can sometimes cause breasts to be more sensitive.
- Follow any other directions you receive from your provider or when you schedule your exam.
- Save time by pre-registering in MyChart or please arrive 15 minutes before your exam time. Remember to bring a photo ID, your insurance card and any additional forms provided by your doctor
Breast Cancer Risk Assessment
Before your exam, we do a breast cancer risk assessment. This includes questions about your personal and family history of breast and ovarian cancer, as well as any hormone medication you take. We’ll ask about the age your menstrual periods began and also about menopause.
We use this information to calculate your estimated risk of developing breast cancer in your lifetime. Please discuss this percentage and any concerns with your primary doctor.
