Occupational Therapy
Building skills for daily life and independence
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy helps people of all ages participate in the activities they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday tasks. Whether you’re recovering from illness or injury, managing a chronic condition, or navigating physical or cognitive limitations, our occupational therapists work with you to regain function and independence.
While physical therapy focuses on gross motor function and mobility, occupational therapy centers around fine motor skills, cognitive abilities and meaningful activities — like self-care, work tasks, or recreational hobbies.

- Upper extremity injuries or orthopedic issues
- Hand and arm conditions, including fractures, sprains, arthritis
- Developmental or cognitive delays

What to Expect
Your First Visit
You’ll meet with a licensed occupational therapist to discuss your medical history, current challenges and personal goals. Your therapist will perform an initial evaluation of your strength, range of motion, coordination and other key functions.
Your Treatment Plan
Using your evaluation results and input, your therapist will build a customized plan. This may include manual therapy, fine motor exercises, self-care skill training, cognitive strategies, or use of adaptive equipment.
Home Program
Most patients receive a home exercise or activity plan to reinforce skills between sessions. Your progress is monitored and your plan adjusted as needed to ensure you stay on track.
