What to Expect
Your first visit will include a full evaluation of your strength, mobility, coordination and function. Our therapists will:
- Review your medical history
- Discuss your personal goals
- Assess your physical or cognitive abilities (depending on the type of therapy)
- Develop a personalized plan of care
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and supportive shoes. Your therapist may assign simple exercises to support progress between visits.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many therapy sessions will I have?
Each patient’s diagnosis is different, so together with your referring doctor, your therapist will develop a plan of care that is right for you. Your plan of care and number of visits will be determined during your first visit.
How long will my therapy session last?
Depending on the situation, your initial visit could last for up to an hour. Additional visits generally last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the type of therapy you are receiving. We will ask you to come 15 minutes early for your first visit to complete all required paperwork.
Will therapy hurt?
As you restore mobility your pain levels often fluctuate. This is a normal response to therapy treatment. Good communication with your therapist will help minimize any discomfort.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move. We can provide gowns and shorts if needed.
What happens once I'm better?
