7-8 a.m. - Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Your care involves many specialists all working together to help you obtain the best possible outcome - you are surrounded by a team of health professionals dedicated to helping you regain independence.
Here is a list of those specialties and the role each serves in your recovery.
- Physiatrist - Also known as physicians, but are specially trained in rehabilitation who coordinate your overall treatment and recovery process
- Physical Therapist - Help improve your mobility, including transfers, walking and stairs
- Occupational Therapist - Focus on improving your everyday living skills, including bathing, dressing, cooking, job-related tasks and cognitive skills
- Speech Language Pathologists - Speech language pathologists work with you to improve your ability to speak, swallow, read, write and comprehend. They also help you work on your cognitive skills (the way you think)
- Therapeutic Recreational Therapist - Provide activities that enable you to return to social and leisure activities, as well as activities to reduce stress
- Social Workers - Help you and your family adjust to the changes that were brought about by illness or injury, helping you and your family make preparations for life after you leave the hospital. Most of our patients return home or with family immediately following their rehabilitation stay
- Certified Rehabilitation RNs - Provide around the clock personal care and support. Our inpatient rehabilitation program has a low nurse to patient ratio
