Diabetes Education Classes

Take control of your diabetes

Our certified diabetes educators offer many programs focused on special education needs. In addition to classes, individual consultations and coaching is available to help you succeed.

A doctor’s order is required for these classes. Talk to your doctor, or our diabetes educators can help determine the best class for you and obtain an order from your doctor.

Comprehensive Diabetes Education

This is a series of highly interactive education programs. Our certified diabetes educators will help decide the best classes for you. Topics include carbohydrates and meal planning, controlling low and high blood sugar levels, medication information, foot care, dealing with stress, traveling with diabetes and avoiding complications.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Special education focusing on carbohydrate counting, weight management, lipid control and meal planning.

Insulin Pump Training

Diabetes educators will help you learn how to manage your diabetes using an insulin pump. Follow-up monitoring and education also is available.

Intensive Insulin Management

This training will help you if you need to improve your blood sugar control with daily injections.

Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)

A CGM helps to monitor your blood sugars with decreased or zero finger sticks. It helps to give you more insight to your patterns or trends. This helps to identify the trends and treat them, leading to improved blood sugars. A diabetes educator can share more about the monitor, the benefits and help you determine if it is right for you.

Individual Consultations

Our diabetes educators, nurses and dietitians are happy to meet with you to provide personal consultations and support. We also offer special consultative services to help individuals with special needs such as low vision, hearing impaired and other areas.

Annual Follow-up

Annual follow-up is an important part to all diabetes self-care. This is a good time to review education and test results to help you continue to manage your diabetes over time. Follow-up appointments are covered by many insurance companies, including Medicare.
