Visiting Hours and Information

We warmly welcome you to the Bryan Independence Center

While your visits are helpful to your family member or friend, it's important that you help us keep all clients safe. 

  • You do not need to call in advance. Youth clients' visitors are limited to immediate family members or individuals approved by parent/legal guardian
  • Bryan Independence Center must be a safe drug-free environment
  • If staff believes a visitor is under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, the visitor will be asked to leave
  • If staff believes an intoxicated individual might require medical services, an assessment in the Emergency Department will be offered
  • If staff believes an intoxicated individual will be driving, the Lincoln Police Department will be notified
  • If you bring any item for your loved one, the item must be checked in at the nurse's station

Visiting Hours

For information on visitation days and times please contact your family member or loved one while they are in treatment.

Unacceptable items include

  • Medications of any kind, including over-the-counter drugs, herbal supplements and vitamins
  • Drugs, alcohol
  • Firearms or other weapons
  • Sexually explicit materials
  • Gambling devices/lottery or pickle cards

Clients in the youth program are not allowed to carry these items

  • Tobacco products       
  • Matches or lighters

Youth clients who are 18 years old are allowed to smoke, but their smoking supplies are kept for them at the nurse's station.

If our staff believes belongings you have with you create a risk for clients, you will be asked to take them out of the unit or be asked to leave.
