KRMC celebrates 2,000th Mako Orthopedic case

Kearney Regional Medical Center (KRMC) recently celebrated its 2,000th Mako orthopedic surgery, a milestone made possible by the dedication and expertise of the operating room team and Dr. Ryan DeBlis.

The Mako robotic system, approved by KRMC leadership in July 2019, assists surgeons with advanced 3D planning and robotic-arm precision during joint replacement procedures. This technology helps deliver more accurate outcomes and faster recovery times for patients.

To commemorate the achievement, members of the OR team and Dr. DeBlis gathered for a photo with the robot and celebrated with balloons and cookies.

Since its introduction, KRMC has averaged more than 328 Mako cases per year, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to innovation and excellence in orthopedic care.
