Christopher Seip, MD
General Surgeon
Dr. Seip earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1999 before completing his residency in general surgery at Michigan State University. He returned to Nebraska in 2000 and has practiced in Lincoln, North Platte and Grand Island for 20 years. Since 2010 he has offered laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy to support successful weight loss through bariatric surgery.
Akshay Agrawal, MD
Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine
Dr. Agrawal is an internal medicine physician with a board certification in obesity medicine. He is passionate about helping patients achieve their weight loss goals through personalized, effective, evidence‑based weight management care. Dr. Agrawal is honored to walk alongside each person throughout their journey. Nikki Mader, RN
Bariatric Services Coordinator
Nikki is a registered nurse with 15 years of experience in surgery, inpatient/outpatient care, quality and leadership. She will help you understand the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy procedure and requirements that must be met for insurance approval and successful outcomes. She works closely with Dr. Seip and Surgery Group of Grand Island to ensure a smooth process leading up to your surgery. Nikki provides additional assistance throughout your weight loss journey through one-on-one sessions, support groups and community education. Support doesn't stop when your surgery is complete. It is tailored to meet your individual needs throughout your return to optimal health.
Amy Munoz, RD, LMNT
Registered Dietitian
Amy will explain dietary expectations prior to your surgery and in the days, weeks and months following your surgery. She will help you optimize your nutrition for a successful recovery and successfully guide you on steps to help you reach your weight loss goals. She will help you address barriers you have been struggling with that have made weight loss difficult. She will also meet with you after your surgery to ensure your nutrient needs are being met to maintain your overall health. Although weight loss is the measured result from surgery, it is her goal to help you improve your physical, mental and emotional health and develop a healthy relationship with food.
Kelly Carlson,
Surgery Group of Grand Island
Kelly has over 15 years of experience in patient relations, registration, scheduling, billing and insurance. Kelly will help you begin your bariatric process by checking our insurance coverage and requirements. She works closely with our Bariatric Services Coordinator to help with any needs or questions.
