Our patients are like family to me. As the ventricular assist device (VAD) nurse practitioner and program coordinator, I talk to our patients every week to see how they are doing, and this creates a special bond. Before working at Bryan Heart, I was the VAD coordinator at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. I graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, in 2010 with a master of science degree in nursing and am a board certified acute care nurse practitioner, with more than 13 years of nursing experience.
For me, it’s great to be back in Nebraska and working at Bryan Heart with our ventricular assist device team. I am extremely proud of the care we provide our patients.
