My Approach to Care

To me the most important part of the care I provide to my patients is being a good listener. This helps me provide the best care, answer each patient’s questions and make sure their concerns are addressed.

As a neurologist, I care for patients of all ages facing various health concerns such as:

  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular disorders

Dr. Vavra and his nurse were outstanding! The reception area was not private enough. Voices carry throughout the area. Even when I call on the phone I can hear other patients answering questions. The reception staff wore their name tags backwards so names could not be seen. Only the title ribbon was visible. The rule of not rescheduling an appointment if within 24 hours of the appointment is offensive. Legitimate illnesses or injuries can happen.

Well, I went to the doctor I was very frustrated and I had not gotten any answers from a previous neurologist. I was very happy with Vavra with the answers he gave me the the listening and taking time to answer all my questions.

My experience with my doctor was great. However, the service at the front desk was just terrible. Nobody greeted me when I walked in the door. I believe there's a new girl that was working. So she was asking all these questions, which is absolutely understandable. But just the way that they went about it was just, absolutely seemed ridiculous. Yeah, very poor customer service at the front desk. Other than that, very happy with the doctor.
