My Approach to Care

I like to spend time with patients, get to know them really well to establish a relationship for providing care and knowing their preferences for care.

I care for newborn to ‘well experienced’ patients. It’s a collaborative effort between my patients and myself and using what I know to best help my patients. Providing customized, individualized care to each patient is really rewarding.

To improve, you can make it so that all the covid patients are in the same area as going to see the doctor. That would be a huge Improvement so you don't have to be worried about getting sick when you're in there to see your doctor.

Hi, I just really wanted to say that Dr. Steffens is easily easily the best doctor that I've ever seen, I see another provider in that same clinic and Dr. Steffens has treated me better than any other provider has ever treated me before I thought he was very knowledgeable, especially for being new to the practice and I really appreciate it all the information and the time that he spent engaged to me so I just wanted to clarify that he is hands down one of the best providers I have ever met in my life and I am very thankful that he is part of this team.

Dr. Steffens was very knowledgeable and knew everything he was talking about, is very friendly and seemed to be very honest and it's really enjoyed my time meeting him for the first time ever feel like it's like the right doctor, like my personal care physician for me so I really appreciate the service thank you.

I didn't like having 1 door to the facility. I had to walk by 30 or so people that were waiting for Urgent Care. With Covid this is too dangerous to others!

A new doctor since mine was gone. Just terrific. Even made a call to my husband past 7:00pm to let him know the results of my tests (non-Covid). Then to prescribe 1 other prescription after reading test results.

He willingly gave us his time .

The separation between COVID and other doctors patience's is inadequate. Separate lines and seating areas should be developed. May change doctors if this continues.

I appreciate the Dr.'s persistent in seeking to diagnose my condition. His openness and honesty rank very high with me. The follow up test he scheduled for CT Scan was more than helpful. He, Dr. Steffens (pardon my spelling) is a strong addition to the staff. And as always, Suzanne is such a great nurse and much appreciated. Thanks to you all for the great medical care you offer.

Dr Steffens was exemplary. He listened to me like I was part of my own health care and treated me like a regular person. It was very clear there was no power imbalance which made me feel so much trust in his expertise and judgement. He treated me like a person worthy of listening to and that made all the difference to me. He also seems to know how to relate to a person with PTSD and that is highly unusual to find in medical field. His ability to "hear" me made me feel safe under his professional care. He also has an excellent bedside manner when I was so sick and I couldn't articulate well what was happening. He changed my entire perspective on what medical care should feel like. I should feel comfortable and safe with my own dr. I've never felt that until my husband and I met him. Now my entire family wants to go with him. The nurse with him that day was exceptional too. Because she treated me with so much kindness and didn't just ask questions blankly and coldly. She was very professional and yet so kind. That's what I want is to feel like I can go to my dr and not be scared of how they treat me or not be listened to. My input matters too. The two experiences I had with Dr Steffens gave me hope that I could have a dr who I could actually be honest with because I had faith he wouldn't put me down or talk down to me. He didn't talk to me like my mind and body are just charts to be looked at. He humanized me and that made me trust his expertise. He just treated me like an equal human being which made me trust that he knows what he's doing and has my best interests at heart. I'm also not afraid of him because I can tell he's trying to establish a working partnership with whomever he sees. It's not an us v them mentality with him. He actually asked for permission to touch me to examine my stomach. He kept things professional at all times but also acted like a human being with a personality and someone who wasn't going to dump me because I didn't conform immediately to his will. All I need to know is do you actually care or is this just a vocation to you ? He cares about his patients getting proper care and I trust him to not dump me or leave me high and dry. I would really like to suggest Dr Steffens specialize in working with trauma survivors as a medical provider because he either has training in trauma competency or is just a natural at it. Either way I have suggested him as a dr to several people already who would benefit from his ability to "see" the patient.

I would just like to thank Dr. Steffens for putting up with my vagal reaction during the procedure. He was very helpful, and so was his help... during the procedure. He's very professional, very kind and well spoken. He's probably one of the better doctors I've ever seen in my life. I'm very pleased that I met him. And I plan on continuing having my check ups with him.

Dr Stephen's took the time to try to figure out what was wrong with me yesterday. My regular Dr is Dr Wang but I saw him because I think Dr Wang didn't have openings. He was kind and noticed a few things and ordered blood tests to investigate further.

He is not my normal provider and I have never met him, he sat and listened to everything I had to say, checked me over and talked to me about everything as well. He was genuine and had amazing bedside manner
