Position Overview
Bryan Heart is recruiting a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a high-volume, established 3-surgeon practice within Bryan Health. The home base hospital is a 684-bed regional referral center serving four states.
This is a productivity-driven, physician-led program with strong institutional support and a stable referral base.
Position Highlights
- Established, high-volume practice
- ~500 open cardiac cases annually
- ~400 thoracic cases annually
- Broad case mix including CABG, valve, and thoracic oncology
- Exclusive market position
- Sole provider of cardiac and vascular surgery across Bryan Medical Center campuses
- Extensive referral network across Nebraska and surrounding states
Practice Structure
- 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons with equal call distribution
- 2:1 APP-to-surgeon support model
- Dedicated inpatient, OR, and clinic support
- Physician-controlled OR scheduling
- 3 dedicated cardiovascular ORs (renovated 2021)
- Fully integrated cardiovascular service line
- Cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, and vascular surgery all aligned within one system
Clinical Environment
- High-functioning OR teams and ICU support
- Epic EMR across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Strong alignment with oncology and structural heart programs
- Continued institutional investment in cardiovascular growth
Compensation & Incentives
- Competitive base salary with productivity-based compensation model
- Bonus opportunities aligned with clinical output and quality
- Loan repayment: negotiable
Position Profile
- Board-certified/eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Open cardiac surgery
- Thoracic surgery
- Interest in practicing in a high-volume, team-based environment
