As a resident in the Bryan Pharmacy Residency Program, you will be involved in all aspects of pharmacy services at Bryan Medical Center.
This includes:
- Our unit based team approach to patient care where you will work directly with other staff and patients; patient areas with unit-based pharmacists include:
- Cardiovascular intensive care
- Cardiology general care
- Pediatrics and neonatal intensive care
- Neurotrauma medical intensive care
- Internal medicine
- Post-surgical
- Surgical pharmacy satellite services
- Mental Health – child and adolescent, affective disorders, adult psychiatry and senior mental health
- Obstetrics, labor and delivery, and postpartum
- Orthopedics/Trauma
- Physical Rehabilitation
- Pharmacist responsibilities including:
- Pharmacokinetic consults
- Renal dose adjustment
- Medication reconciliation – at admission and discharge
- Parenteral to enteral conversions
- Anticoagulation management
- Rounding with multidisciplinary medical teams
- Antimicrobial stewardship
- Assuring compliance with clinical pathways, protocols and core measures
- Glycemic management
- Parenteral nutrition
- Pharmacotherapy management through procedure based processes
- A collaborative working relationship with our Hospitalist, Cardiology, and Trauma services for medication reconciliation and home medication management
- Hospital and department committees
- Student precepting with multiple schools of pharmacy including Creighton University, The University of Nebraska Medicine and The University of Iowa
