"I most enjoyed the relationships I was able to develop with the senior team, directors, managers and front line staff. The fellow is exposed to all areas of the organization and therefore has the opportunity to see how all the pieces come together to create not only an amazing culture here at Bryan but also provide leading edge care to our patients. Being the fellow during the COVID-19 pandemic allowed me to see this on an even greater scale as we had to be nimble, collaborative and adaptable to the ever changing needs of the community."

"It is difficult to share just one enjoyable aspect of the fellowship as the entire year still remains the highlight of my career. This fellowship provided me with a unique opportunity to learn complexities of a health care system from front-line patient care, to board-level decisions to understanding and navigating around the elements of culture, leadership and so much more that is involved in healthcare management. From shadowing a surgery at Bryan Heart to spending a night in the ER at Bryan West to process improvement projects with the EVS and distribution teams to visiting top nation cancer centers as we strategized for Bryan Cancer Center - the opportunities and learning experiences in the fellowship were endless. The executives at Bryan were actively engaged in the fellowship program and willing to share information and advice openly - even years later, I still reach out for advice and keep in touch. This year was an extremely rewarding and positive experience that transformed me both personally and professionally. Both Bryan and the community of Lincoln welcomed me with open arms and made me into an effective healthcare leader that I am today."
