Prevent Type 2 Diabetes
Program Information Session

If you have prediabetes or are at risk for diabetes, this program is for you!  Prediabetes is when you have a higher than normal blood sugar level that's not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. If you don't treat prediabetes, it can lead to type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

The Bryan Diabetes Center offers a one-year diabetes prevention program that will help you feel better, be healthier and best of all, reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. It is covered by Medicare and other insurance plans. 

To be eligible, you need to:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 24 or 23 if of Asian descent 
• No previous diagnosis of diabetes
• Labs that indicate prediabetes (within the past year) 
  • Fasting blood glucose of 100 or 110 (*for Medicare)
  • Or an A1C of 5.7-6.4%
