During the 11-week program, you will work alongside a nurse preceptor, gain additional experience and prepare for your career.

Program Requirements

  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from accredited nursing program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Active Nebraska Nurse Aide Certification and listed on the Nebraska DHHS Medication Aide Registry (by April 30, 2026)

Important Dates

  • Applications open October 6 and are due January 9
  • Virtual interviews will be held in February
  • If selected, nurse externs must attend in-person orientation on May 27 and May 28
  • Program dates: May 27-August 5
