Bryan College of Health Sciences
The Bryan College of Health Sciences is known for its outstanding health care education in nursing, nurse anesthesia and health professions, as well as the general education courses necessary to enter these fields. Our highly qualified faculty, low student-to-instructor ratio, and an unparalleled number of clinical hours, combined with sophisticated technology such as our high-fidelity patient simulators and human body specimens, ensures that the College delivers a better future for our students and health care professionals, and especially the patients and families they serve.
Bryan College of Health Sciences’ students come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences; each has shown outstanding academic skills and commitment to achieving their health sciences degrees. In an effort to ensure that financial concerns do not impede a student’s desire to pursue their career ambitions, the College has committed to securing scholarships to aid students during their studies. Scholarships are awarded at the $1,000 level or greater and are dedicated to helping students pay their tuition.
Scholarship opportunities at the College
- Current annual scholarship - $1,000 or greater
Current scholarships are awarded to a student meeting the scholarships criteria and can be renewed on an annual basis by the donor.
- Endowed scholarship - $25,000 or greater
Endowed scholarship is a continuous scholarship presented each year in perpetuity to a student meeting the scholarship’s financial and academic criteria, which is established by the donor in conjunction with the College. Student recipients may change on an annual basis.
- Distinguished Scholarships - $300,000 or greater
A distinguished scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship available at the College. It is awarded to a student upon entering the college and stays with the student until graduation. Once the recipient graduates, a new student will receive the scholarship. This cycle of scholarship support will continue in perpetuity. Donors may elect to create financial need or academic criteria in conjunction with the College.
Celebrating Scholarship Donors and Recipients
Each year, the Bryan College of Health Sciences celebrates scholarship donors and recipients during the Scholarship Luncheon. This annual affair is held in October and provides donors the opportunity to meet their scholarship recipient and learn more about the college.
Donors to the College have variety backgrounds and their own personal reasons for establishing their scholarship. Here are some stories and examples of alumni and community members who have created scholarships to help students during their academic studies:
