Kearney Regional Medical Center Welcomes Robert Matheny, MD

Kearney Regional Medical Center welcomes Robert Matheny, MD, as our new Intensivist in the Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Matheny joins us with more than two decades of experience in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine, most recently serving as an attending physician at Kingman Regional Medical Center in Arizona, where he also served as Medical Director of both the Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Services. His background also includes emergency medicine, leadership in bioterrorism preparedness at St. Michael’s Medical Center, and service on the Seton Hall University Committee of Graduate Medical Education.

He completed his Pulmonary-Critical Care Fellowship and Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Michael’s Medical Center through Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Matheny earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, following prerequisite coursework and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University.

Dr. Matheny is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He maintains ACLS, BLS, and Stroke certifications and is a member of both the American College of Chest Physicians and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is also bilingual, strengthening our ability to provide care to a diverse patient population.
