Marks 100th Anniversary with Day of Volunteerism
Bryan College of Health Sciences (BCHS) celebrated its 100th anniversary of educating future healthcare professionals by continuing its long-standing commitment to service with a day of volunteerism.
On Friday, April 17, over 100 students, faculty and staff from Bryan College of Health Sciences joined together for Care Like Crazy Day, a city-wide volunteer effort to give back to the Lincoln community. Service activities included yard work, stocking food shelves, blood pressure screenings for seniors and trash clean-up.
Volunteers served at multiple locations, including:
- BraveBe Child Advocacy Center
- Salvation Army
- Food Fort
- Eventide Senior Living (formerly Tabitha)
- Lincoln Bike Trails
Additionally, a similar event took place in central Nebraska with members of the Bryan College of Health Sciences location in Hastings on April 10. There, over a dozen participants spent the day painting rooms at the Maryland Living Center.
“We are passionately committed to giving back to the communities that support us,” said Kelsi Anderson, president, Bryan College of Health Sciences. “For a century, these areas have been a place of strength and care for our students, faculty and staff. One of our core values is, Care Like Crazy. It’s only fitting for us to put that in action and give back.”
