GIRMC Awards First Sunshine Award to Arsellia Martinez

Arsellia Martinez of Grand Island Regional Medical Center was recently honored with the Sunshine Award. The Sunshine Award honors employees who model compassionate service of the highest standard to patients, visitors, and customers of Grand Island Regional Medical Center. The Sunshine Award recognizes exceptional ancillary and support members who work closely with our nursing and provider staff to improve patient experience and patient care.

Martinez is a Team Leader in the Environmental Services Department, and is GIRMC's first recipient of this honor. She was nominated by Maria Lawrence, Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She wrote:

"Arsellia consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication and compassion in her work. Her positive attitude and unwavering commitment to providing outstanding service and care for Bryan Health makes such a difference. She goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels valued and supported, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Her kindness, professionalism, and tireless efforts make her a deserving candidate for this recognition."

David Liebsack, Clinical Services Director at Grand Island Regional Medical Center, expressed gratitude for Martinez and her willingness to assume additional responsibilities as a Team Leader. "Arsellia embraced her new role, and her efforts are one of the main reasons the department is moving in such a positive direction."
