Honoring Every Birth Story: C-Section Awareness Month

April is C-Section Awareness Month—a time to recognize, honor, and support the many moms whose birth stories include a cesarean section. Whether planned or unexpected, a C-section is still a birth. And it deserves to be celebrated with the same love, strength, and admiration as any other delivery.

At our Kearney Regional Medical Center's Maternity Care Center, we see the beauty and bravery in every journey to motherhood. We know that birth doesn't always go according to plan. And for many women, the path to meeting their baby includes a surgical delivery—sometimes after hours of labor, sometimes decided well in advance, and sometimes in a moment’s notice for the safety of mom or baby.

There’s often a quiet strength in C-section moms—recovering from major surgery while learning to care for a newborn, working through physical and emotional healing, and showing up day after day with love and resilience.

This month, we simply want to say:
We see you. We honor you. Your birth story matters.

If you're a mom who delivered by C-section, whether it was your first birth or your fourth, know this: your body did something incredible. You brought life into the world. And that deserves recognition—not just in April, but every single day.

To all the C-section moms in our community—thank you for your strength, your vulnerability, and your love. You are not alone in your experience, and your story is powerful.

Let’s keep the conversation going. This month, join us in raising awareness, breaking stigma, and holding space for every kind of birth.

Because every birth is beautiful. And every mom is amazing.
