Celebrating 100 Successful WATCHMAN™ Implants at Kearney Regional Medical Center

Kearney Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is proud to announce a significant milestone in our commitment to advanced cardiac care—100 successful WATCHMAN™ implants! This achievement reflects the dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment of our cardiology team.
The WATCHMAN™ implant is a minimally invasive procedure aimed at reducing stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib) who require an alternative to long-term anticoagulation therapy. Since the inception of the WATCHMAN program at KRMC in August 2023, Dr. Vivek Varma, supported by Dr. Linda Ferrer in imaging and follow-up care, has played a pivotal role in its development and success. The addition of Dr. Kevin Hall to the program will expand the program's capacity, further elevating the high standard of care we offer our patients.
A Commitment to Excellence
Reaching 100 successful implants is not just a number—it represents 100 lives positively impacted by the dedication and expertise of our physicians and the entire cardiovascular care team. Their focus on innovation and patient safety has made this milestone possible, positioning KRMC as a trusted leader in heart health for our region.
Recognizing Our Team’s Hard Work
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Varma, Dr. Hall, Dr. Ferrer, and the entire team for their role in achieving this remarkable milestone. Their commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions and compassionate care has made a lasting impact on the lives of our patients and the broader community.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this success, KRMC remains dedicated to advancing heart care and continuing to provide innovative treatment options for our patients.
Thank you to our incredible team for making this milestone possible—and to our community for trusting us with your care.
