Kearney Regional Medical Center Achieves Reaccreditation as Primary Stroke Center

Kearney Regional Medical Center has once again achieved Primary Stroke Center certification through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).

Certification is a process through which health care organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Certification by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

“Being recognized by a prestigious national organization such as ACHC reflects our organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care,” said Bill Calhoun, CEO. “And, for me, it’s much more than a certification, it’s personal. Years ago my grandmother suffered a stroke in a community where the local hospital was not prepared to care for her. Each time I think about the work our team has done to become certified as a Primary Stroke Center, I am reminded of why we do what we do.”

ACHC certification confirms that KRMC is providing high-quality care as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. A national nonprofit organization with deeming authority from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), ACHC has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986.
