Merrick Medical Center Announces Future Site and Naming of New Medical Facility

Merrick Medical Center is one step closer to achieving its vision of building a brand new medical center in Central City.

Today, the hospital received possession of 22.4 acres of land from the Dinsdale family on which the new medical facility will be located. The property, located at the intersection of 15th Road and 28th Street, will be known as the Dinsdale Health Campus.

Signs announcing the future home of the Dinsdale Health Campus were unveiled today at a brief ceremony held on the new grounds. Doctors and staff from Merrick Medical Center attended the event and were joined by local dignitaries and Roy Dinsdale, representing the Dinsdale family.

“This is a tremendous day for Merrick County and all of the communities that our medical center serves,” said Sam Krug, president of the Merrick Medical Center Foundation Board. “Now people in the area can see exactly where the new medical center will be built. It lets people know that we’re making real progress in turning our vision for a brand new facility into a reality.”

“This is a great step for us,” said Paul Clark, CEO of Merrick Medical Center. “But we still need the help of our communities to reach our goal of raising $5 million in support for the new medical center. We still have about $1 million to go and will have to reach the finish line before we can start construction.”

For those who would like to hear more about the project and how they can be a part of it, please call Kendra Jefferson, Merrick Medical Center foundation director, at 308-946-8015.
