Vampire Facial

Vampire Facial
May, 2013

I know, sounds a little intimidating right? Well it’s not at all the bloody mess most would imagine. Dr. Lott again has the newest procedure in Lincoln, NE. Anyone who knows her is well aware that she keeps up with all the latest trends, while always finding the science and research to make sure the procedure or product is worthwhile. With Dr. Ann Lott’s approval we had our training on the Vampire Facial Tuesday night.

Most everyone has heard of Kim Kardashian and her ability to get the media’s attention. Thanks to Kim, the Vampire Facial has become well known, however, not in the way that this highly recommended procedure should have. If you have seen the video of Kim, she seems to be in a lot of pain and red blood all over her face. This is NOT how the Vampire Facial feels or looks. Let’s take you through what the vampire facial is and how it can benefit you.

To begin the vampire facial we put a numbing crème on your face so that you will not experience any pain for this procedure. While your face is getting nice and numb, Dr. Lott will draw a vile of your blood approximately 4-6 cc. We then spin the blood down to get your Platelet Rich Plasma separated from your blood. This PRP is blood plasma that has approximately one million platelets per ml. It promotes wound healing and also is a protein growth factor. Once your face is numb and the PRP is separated, an aesthetitian or nurse will use a Micro-Needling Pen to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin on the face, neck or other body part to produce collagen and elastin. When the Micro-Needling is complete we then have a 15-minute grace period to put your Platelet Rich Plasma, which is usually gold in color, on the areas that we did the procedure. Your skin of course is so well designed that it begins to heal itself within the 15 minutes therefore it is important to get that PRP in those openings for maximum results. We will remove that PRP about 15-20 minutes after the application and then you are ready to go home!

Now I am sure you are wondering what those wonderful benefits are. This procedure helps with texture, tone improvement, wrinkle reduction, and softer, younger looking skin. This new collagen can help reverse sun damage, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, stretch marks and traumatic scars!! The ultimate question…..IS THERE DOWNTIME?? Everyone’s skin is different, of course, however most patients will be pink to red for 1-3 days but it's nothing that makeup can’t hide. Some patients completely heal within 24 hours. How many treatments will you need?! The recommendation is 2-3 treatments about 6-8 weeks apart. If you have deep wrinkles, stretch marks or acne scars, 6-8 treatments are recommended.

All in all this treatment uses your own platelet rich plasma to give you healthier, younger looking skin. Give us a call today to book an appointment and give yourself the beautiful skin you deserve. We would love to help.
