A high speed, head-on crash on Highway 79. A shooting at point-blank range at the Americold plant in Crete, Nebraska. Years ago, survival from such horrific events would not be possible. Now, thanks the statewide Trauma System, William and Elizabeth have their lives back.
On Thursday, April 12, the BryanLGH Trauma Center hosted its fourth annual Tribute to Trauma Champions event. This event honored the dedicated professionals involved in saving the lives of Elizabeth Canas Luong, survivor of shooting at Americold plant in Crete, Nebraska, and William Wimmer, survivor of a head-on car crash.
This year's event recognized these individuals including dispatch operators, law enforcement and EMS providers in Crete, Wilber and Raymond; Crete Area Medical Center and BryanLGH staff members and rehabilitation professionals; physicians and surgeons as well as family, community members and ongoing care providers.
