"It's your life and it's your health," says Rhonda. "It was a commitment I had to make personally and mentally."

Margaret's Story Lost 95 pounds
Margaret Bennett of Lincoln said that she was tired of all the adjustments she had to make to her life because of her size. She was tired of the aches, the pains, and the excuses. “It was a slow process for me to be able to admit that being overweight was affecting my life. I always thought I should be able to do it on my own. Finally, I realized I needed help. I had to do something.”

Margaret started researching the different types of bariatric surgeries and met with several medical centers in Nebraska that offer weight loss surgery. In the summer of 2012, she met Dr. Armour Forse, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeon, Bryan Bariatric Advantage. “When I met Dr. Forse, I knew he was the one I could trust to do this.”
Since she began this life changing journey, Margaret has lost 95 pounds. She has learned how to tell when her body is full. She exercises regularly because her joints no longer hurt and she sleeps better, giving her more energy and motivation. But she didn’t do it alone.
“That’s what I really liked about Bryan’s program. After the surgery, I had a support system at Bryan’s Lifepointe campus. My exercise specialist helped me get into warm water aerobics and other exercises. My dietitian was always there for me. I could call or email her questions anytime. She helped me get the right vitamins and a protein supplement. I never spent much time in the kitchen before, but now, I actually enjoy shopping and cooking - being in charge of my own nutrition.”
Margaret says her weight loss has made a noticeable difference in her activity level. “I do more in a day than I used to do in a week.” On her last visit to Dr. Forse, Margaret thanked him for saving her life. “I believe this surgery saved me – emotionally and physically.”
