Biomedical Application Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences Application Requirements

Admissions to the Biomedical Sciences program is based upon the same philosophy we use when teaching and preparing our students: we seek our and foster academic excellence as well as a strong commitment to the biomedical science profession.  Prospective students are expected to meet specific academic requirements and to show basic technical competencies.

Prospective Biomedical students are expected to meet the following academic requirements:

  • Cumulative High School GPA of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, from an accredited high school or GED.
  • Cumulative GPA of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for high school Math and Science.
  • High School required course: four years Science (including Biology and Chemistry) and four years Math (including Algebra I & II and Geometry).
  • Recommended courses: Physics, Calculus or Trigonometry.
  • ACT composite score of 24 or above or SAT total of 1650 or above; minimum score of 24 in Math and Science.  Test scores reviewed for three years after completion of high school.
  • Cumulative College GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.  GPA requirement of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in Science and Math.
  • References.
  • Interview for qualified applicants on a invitation basis.
  • Applicants for who English is a learned language may be ask to take the TOEFL English proficiency exam and score 550 paper basted, 213 computer based, or 70 internet based or better.
  • International Students should contact the Admissions Office for additional information and forms. 

Prosepective Biomedical studets are expected to meet the following basic technical competencies:

  • Utilize perceptual skills when providing care and services for clients in all types of settings.
  • Safely use essential equipment when providing client care and services in all required settings.
  • Move independently when providing care and services for clients.

Applications for the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences are pooled; applicants should apply by February 1 for Fall entry.

  • An applicaiton form and a $50.00 application fee
  • Official high school transcripts (junior grades must be included)
  • Official college transcripts, if applicable
  • Three references (reference form)
  • SAT or ACT test results, if applicable
  • TOEFL test results, if applicable
  • Personal interview
