Are you interested in becoming a basic nursing assistant? Maybe you want to go on to receive
your degree in nursing or allied health? If you’re interested in entering the healthcare field, the basic nursing assistant course teaches the skills you need. With successful completion of this course and the competency examinations (written and skills examinations), you are eligible for placement on the State of Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry. Successful completion also fulfills the nursing assistant requirement for Bryan College of Health Sciences nursing and health professions programs.
Course Description
The Basic Nursing Assistant Course trains non-licensed individuals to provide safe, effective and caring services to patients, residents and clients in a variety of healthcare settings. Class participants learn basic nursing skills such as:
· Bathing
· Feeding
· Toileting
· Walking and moving a patient
The course is taught by Bryan College of Health Sciences faculty and approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure.
