Quick and Easy Ways To Focus On Your Heart During American Heart Month

During February, you can take advantage of many special offerings from Bryan Health and the region’s leading heart experts. Heart month is a time to learn how you can take care of your heart and prevent heart disease, the number one killer in the United States. Here are some of the special offerings.

Take Your Heart Out to Eat!

This year, Bryan Health, Lazlo’s and Fireworks are partnering to promote heart health. When you complete your HeartAware online screening in February, you’ll get a deal on a special heart healthy meal. HeartAware is quick, free and confidential. It’s an easy way to find out if you’re at risk for heart disease. If you are at risk, you can meet with a nurse about your health. You’ll also receive your choice of a special meal at a special price when you complete the screening. Choices include HeartAware fresh salmon at Lazlo’s Brewery and Grill or HeartAware Flat Iron Omaha Steak at Fireworks Restaurant. To take a screening and receive your special offer, visit bryanhealth.org/heartaware.

Heart Failure Community Program

About 5.7 million Americans are living with heart failure today. Fortunately, heart failure can be treated. Join Dr. John Steuter, Bryan Heart cardiologist, and Heather Mosley, APRN, to learn how you can treat your heart failure and live an energized, healthy life. The program takes place on Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Bryan East Campus, Plaza Conference Center, 1500 S. 48th St. The program is free and includes a refreshment and Valentine’s rose. Register at bryanhealth.org/calendar.
