We're Hosting Multiple Events in February to Highlight American Heart Month

Bryan Health is hosting multiple events during February to highlight American Heart Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about preventing cardiovascular disease, the number one killer of men and women in the United States.

Online HeartAware Screenings

Bryan Health offers free, confidential online heart screenings that will let you know, in the privacy of your own home, if you are at risk for heart disease. HeartAware is an online evaluation that asks participants to answer a series of questions about their health. Upon completion, individuals receive a customized report and recommendations for follow-up actions. Participants at risk for heart disease will have the opportunity to meet with a nurse and discuss their health.

Cardiovascular Screenings

Bryan Medical Center is offering cardiovascular screenings on Thursday, February 19 from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

These painless, noninvasive screenings will be available by appointment only at the Early Detection Center. Three screenings will be offered: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound Screening will cost $40, Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening will cost $20, and Atrial Fibrillation Screening will cost $10.

To register, call 402-481-5121.

Atrial Fibrillation Community Education Program

Bryan Community Health Education presents Atrial Fibrillation: A Little FIB Can Cause a Big PROBLEM on Monday, February 23 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Join Dr. Michael Kutayli, Bryan Heart cardiologist, as he gives an overview of atrial fibrillation, diagnosis and treatment options available. This program is free to the public and will be held in the Plaza Conference Center at Bryan East Campus.

To register, visit bryanhealth.org/calendar or call 402-481-8886.
