Outpatient Services Expanded at CAMC
The expanded Outpatient Services Clinic at Crete Area Medical Center is now open.
The newly renovated space formerly housed the business and health information offices. It was repurposed to create two new procedure rooms and administrative space, in addition to the six existing exam rooms utilized by specialty physicians.
"With the expanded space, three specialty physicians can each see three patients at one time," said Carol Friesen, president and CEO. "In the evening and overnight hours, two of those rooms can be used as sleep study rooms. Previously, sleep studies were done on the hospital floor, which can be noisy. The new space is much quieter and will provide a more accurate study."
Friesen said approximately 750 procedures and surgeries are done a year at CAMC. This expanded area will better meet the existing demands and allow for future growth.
A wide array of surgical procedures are done in Crete, including gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, otolaryngology (ENT), urology, general surgery, and cataract surgery.
Friesen said many times patients just don't realize the extent of care they can receive right in their own community. She encourages patients to look to CAMC as an option for their specialty procedures and surgeries.
"CAMC offers state of the art medical equipment, thanks to the generosity of the community and our supportive foundation," she said. "Our patients receive one-on-one care and treatment. We take great pride in the fact that our patient satisfaction rates are in the 95th percentile."
Specialists in the areas of cardiology, oncology, vascular surgery, dermatology, plastic surgery and pulmonology see patients in Crete. If you need a specialist, talk to your primary care physician or call CAMC at 826-2102 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
