Parents' Support Group is a service that the Bryan Independence Center offers to support parents and guardians whose adolescents are experiencing substance abuse and addiction issues.
You do not need to be involved with services at the Independence Center to attend. The group is available to all parents in the community free of charge. No registration is necessary.
Participants may have an adolescent already in substance abuse counseling or they may have just discovered that their child is having substance abuse issues. Parents' Support Group is a program where these parents can talk about what they and their child are going through and relate to others who are experiencing similar situations.
The group is facilitated by a substance abuse counselor. Parent Support Group is held every Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in room 129 at the Independence Center.
