A very special program for anyone recently diagnosed with cancer, LifeSpring includes mind, body and spirit aspects to help you put your life back together after your diagnosis.
Research shows LifeSpring participants experience significant improvement in their quality of life, especially in reducing fatigue and depression. Sleep and pain management are also positively impacted.
Another benefit - new friendships. Health experts including physical therapists, exercise specialists, dietitians and nurses provide education, activities and modified exercises.
LifeSpring includes a weekly education program and two exercise sessions each week. Each exercise session includes 20-30 minutes of cardiovascular/aerobic exercises plus activities to improve strength, balance and flexibility.
The educational sessions consist of presentations, discussion and sharing. Topics include nutrition, energy conservation, coping, relaxation, sleep, spirituality and relationships.
Additional benefits are the supportive environment, sharing and discussion and a sense of belonging and being understood.
The next class is June 10-September 2; Tuesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. & Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Pre-registration is required by June 2.
