Bryan College of Health Sciences offers numerous types of hands-on-learning opportunities for all of our students! We know that the majority of healthcare students learn best by doing. Having the opportunity to apply what is learned in the classroom is an important aspect of healthcare education. Having the opportunity to practice in laboratory settings allows learners to make mistakes without fear of harming real patients.
The old adage that "Practice makes perfect" is true! Educational theory supports this and that is why we want to give our students plenty of opportunities to practice. We often learn more by the mistakes we make than when we do everything right; however, it is best to make those mistakes in the lab setting!
What puts us ahead of the rest? Be sure to check out The Center for Excellence in Clinical Simulation, a 11-bed simulated hospital unit and our Plastinate Specimens from Body World. We are one of only two colleges in the country to offer the learning opportunity afforded by plasinated specimens!
