This certificate program provides healthcare managers or those aspiring to become managers with in-depth knowledge of management principles including leadership and management skills that apply to the healthcare setting.
Courses are offered at both the graduate and undergraduate level, making the program appropriate for those with Associate degrees as well as Baccalaureate degrees. The curriculum consists of 13 credit hours of healthcare management courses and includes a one credit-hour field experience. All students will take a course in management theories, concepts and skills; human resources management and the field experience. Students also will choose courses from legal issues in healthcare, healthcare economics and healthcare finance and budgeting.
Certificate Program
The Certificate in Healthcare Management is a 13-credit-hour course consisting of four, three credit-hour courses and a one credit-hour field experience. The program can be completed part-time or in one full-time semester and is designed for completion in two years or less.
Online Course Delivery
The courses are fully online in a convenient 16-week format to accommodate the busy schedules of individuals in the healthcare environment.
Students must have access to a computer, internet and possess word processing abilities utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Basic computer skills are an inherent requirement for this certificate program. The College utilizes the ANGEL learning management system.
Courses can be taken asynchronously so that all students are not required to be online at the same date or time. Teaching modalities may include, but are not limited to: blogs, wikis, discussion boards and webinars.
