The Crete Area Health Care Foundation's Care and Share annual fundraising campaign reached its half way mark earlier this month. The campaign has raised more than $20,000 toward its $40,000 goal.
Funds raised will be used to purchase a high definition colonoscope. This high resolution system increases early detection of polyps and existing cancers. Much like digital mammography, it provides diagnostic intelligence that is currently available in only limited locations.
The chairs for this year's campaign are Ron and Tammy Schroeder. Tammy is bravely sharing her story of cancer survival to help encourage people to get their preventative screenings. In many cases, colon cancer can be prevented.
Since 1990 the Foundation has served as the fund-raising arm of the Crete Area Medical Center. It is operated exclusively for charitable and promotional health care purposes to benefit health care in our communities.
The Foundation and CAMC are independent non-for-profit organization. All monies received through fund-raising, memorials and other donations stay in the Crete area.
The Care and Share taskforce along with the Foundation board hope that you share in the excitement of investing in the future of health care in our communities.
