Cardiac Rehabilitation

Inpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation

Inpatient cardiac rehabilitation begins immediately as part of the recovery process for those still in the hospital following a myocardial infarction (heart attack), coronary artery bypass surgery, balloon angioplasty, stenting or heart transplant. Our goal is to provide a coordinated program that will help you and your family early in the recovery process. We focus on:

  • Medical and nursing care
  • Physical activity
  • Education and emotional issues

Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation after being discharged from the medical center is proven to improve quality of life and to reduce further heart attacks and complications. Cardiac rehabilitation can be started after hospitalization for heart problems.

Cardiac rehabilitation helps:
  • Reduce cardiac risk factors, such as increased weight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and smoking
  • Control symptoms of heart disease
  • You to be more active
  • Improve your quality of life
  • You return to your usual activities, including work
A cardiac rehabilitation program includes:
  • Careful medical evaluation of your current health
  • A monitored exercise program of aerobic and resistance training exercises
  • Education and programs to reduce your risk factors for heart problems
  • Stress management programs and counseling for depression
  • Nutritional counseling
