Crete Area Medical Center Hosts Generational Differences Free Public Forum
Crete Area Medical Center (CAMC) will be hosting a free educational forum open to the public on June 7, 2011 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Crete Area Medical Center in the rehabilitation gym.
The title of the forum is "Generational Differences: Black Socks and Flip Flops." It will focus on generational differences and how understanding these differences can lead to more effective communication.
A typical leader today is "Baby Boomer" age and the typical staff reporting to that "Baby Boomer" leader is a "Gen Y." Trust and productivity can often be hampered by differences in work ethic, expectations, and how we express our values. This session tackles key issues that separate and align the four distinct generations that are the combined workforce of today and discusses how to effectively bridge differences.
Beth Keane with the Studer Group will be the guest speaker. She is a co-author of The Nurse Leader's Handbook and a faculty member for the ACHE's cluster workshops as well as a presenter at ACHE annual conference. A former corporate coach, Beth worked for aerospace, wood products, military and educational organizations before coming to Studer Group. She is an expert on effective communication, coaching, employee engagement and the Studer Group processes for Selecting Talent and managing High, Middle, Low performance.
Cost for the forum is underwritten by the Crete Area Health Care Foundation's endowed educational program.
