Average Length of Stay

      button_independence_center_virtual_tour.jpg

The Bryan Independence Center does not have a set number of days for services. Each client's care is individualized, so level of care and length of stay is based on need. The following is approximate:

Program Level

Approximate Length of Stay

Medical Detox Inpatient

3-7 days

Short-Term Residential

21-30 days

Partial Care/Day Treatment

4 weeks

Intensive Outpatient

18-20 sessions (4-7 weeks)

Outpatient

3-4 sessions or 1 week (individual)
3-4 months (group)

Length of stay and level of care will vary for each client depending on his or her needs.

Clients may be in short-term residential care for three weeks, then intensive outpatient for two more weeks. Also, they may transition to higher levels of care as need arises.

Information needed for consideration of services

  • Current substance abuse evaluation (done within the last 30 days) to determine appropriate treatment levels of care. This may be mailed, faxed, or brought to the Independence Center. If the evaluation is more than 30 days old, staff will discuss options.

Evaluation will be reviewed. Additional information may be requested, such as medical, family and friends contact information, psychiatric reports.
  • Clients hospitalized at time of request, medical records also will be needed for physician approval to occur.

  • Clients requesting detox from medications, we will need information from the prescribing physician before proceeding with a detox referral. Our physician may choose to contact the prescribing physician as well.

  • For adolescents on Medicaid, a pretreatment assessment is needed.
