Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program are eligible to file an application to take the National Council Licensing Examination. Licensing entitles the individual to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the state in which the examination was written, and to apply for a license in other states. Based on the Nebraska Uniform Licensing Law 71-147, the Department of Health-Bureau of Examining Boards may deny licensure to applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony; who may be addicted to alcohol or a controlled substance or narcotic drug; or who engage in grossly immoral or dishonorable conduct.
